I am writing to you to request information about sewer flooding in Scotland under the Freedom of Information Act.
Would it be possible to have the following information for each of the last four financial years (2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20), and the data for the 2020 financial year so far:
- The number of people who filed claims with Scottish Water for internal wastewater flooding
- The number of people who received compensation (in the form of payments and/or deductions on their water bills) from Scottish Water for internal wastewater flooding
- The total value of compensation (in £) received to customers for internal wastewater flooding (including both payments and deductions on water bills)
- The number of people who filed claims with Scottish Water for external wastewater flooding
- The number of people who received compensation (in the form of payments and/or deductions on their water bills) from Scottish Water for external wastewater flooding
The total value of compensation (in £) received by customers for external wastewater flooding (including both payments and deductions on water bills)

We responded to this request by issuing a notice informing the requester that we did not hold the information however we did point the requester to Scottish Water.
