We have handled your request in terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA). FOISA provides for a right of access to recorded information held by Scottish public authorities.

We have been unable to provide responses to questions 8, 9 and 10 as we believe the information is exempt under 38(1)(b) which allows for when information constitutes personal data and to disclose would breach one or more of the data protection principles. However, I hope that you might find the following information useful instead: 

  • In 2024-25, the lowest band salary scale starts at £23,049.
  • All pay increases in 2024-25 were in line with the Scottish Governments Pay Policy: Scottish Government Public Sector Pay Policy 2024-25 (see the section on “multi-year pay policy framework”)
  • There is also useful information available in our annual report: 4.1 Annual accounts 2021-22, particularly the fair pay disclosure in the Remuneration and Staff report (section 2.2, p38)
