Request

I have been contracted by the Scottish Union of Supported Employment (SUSE) to carry out research to establish the number of people employed in the Public Sector in Scotland who have a disability.

I have been unable to source the Equality Mainstreaming reports on your website that you are required to publish under the public sector equality duty.

I would appreciate if you are able to forward me the last two reports for your organisation together with the below information.

No. of employees who have declared a disability
No. of employees who have advised no disability
No. of employees who declined to answer
Total headcount

Response

The Water Industry Commission does not hold the information you have requested. Section 17 of FOISA states that where public authorities receive requests for information that they do not hold, they must issue a notice advising that they do not hold the requested information.

We have not published any Equality Mainstreaming reports to date. We are a small organisation with a current headcount of 28 employees and do not publicise the information you are requesting. There is some information relating to our approach to equality and diversity in the workplace in our annual reports, which can be found on our website here. We do not collect or report this information in an aggregate way but we do assess everyone’s requirements as part of our recruitment processes, and manage reasonable adjustments on a case by case basis.
