The event, ‘Water and sanitation services aggregation: From expectations to achievements in selected countries, was held by WAREG and the Florence School of Regulation.

In his presentation Alan talked about the merger journey we have been through in Scotland, the role that economic regulation plays, and the lessons we have learned. Alan outlined the benefits delivered for customers and the environment from the merger, and looked ahead to the future challenges facing the water sector.

Alan’s presentation formed part of a number of case studies that also considered the aggregation experiences in Romania, France and Bulgaria.
