COP26: Water climate discussion

Ahead of COP26, our CEO discusses challenges and solutions at this interactive event.

Our Chief Executive, Alan Sutherland, joined a collaborative Q and A session that looked at the key challenges for the water industry.

The session formed part of a series of events in the run up to the UN’s Climate Change Conference (COP26), which starts on 31 October Glasgow.

In his presentation Alan posed a series of questions about the potential for the water industry to assist with the mitigation of climate change, and the need for more innovative approaches. He also considered the need to rethink the way we pay for water and sewerage services in future – to ensure that customers and the environment get best value.

Alan was joined by Jacob Tompkins of The Water Retail Company and Tseguereda Abraham, Head of Advocacy and System Strengthening at WaterAid Ethiopia.
